Random Reads: "The Bravados" by Wein, Shores, and Esposito

We're back with more rare Len Wein goodness, Groove-ophiles! Wein's "The Bravados" over at Skywald was like a Sam Peckinpah movie squeezed into ten pages. With solid, action-packed art from Syd Shores and Mike Esposito, the lead feature for Wild Western Action #1 (cover-dated March 1971) is more fun than a cold sarsaparilla and a slice'a beef jerky! Check it out!

  1. Skywald picked some genres to publish that were already on the way out: Western, Jungle. This was a very good comic, story and art. For once Mike Esposito was able to ink a story without ruining the penciller. Len Wein was good as ever. I'm amazed at how adaptable he was, pretty well able to script any kind of comic.
